WESTVILLE- Raymond Edwin Thompson Jr. 53 of Westville passed away at 2:14am on Friday, September 14, 2007 at Provena USMC of Danville. Ray was born on September 9, 1954, in Danville, the son of Raymond E. Thompson Sr. and Nellie Hall Thompson, both precede him in death. Ray is survived and will be missed by: his sons, Chad Thompson of Danville, Charles (Mint) Thompson of Tilton, Clayton Thompson of Danville, & Curtis (Melissa) Thompson of Georgetown; his daughters, Christy Thompson of Westville, Cynthia (Jeff) Turner of Westville, and Carla (Zachary) Foster of KY; his eight grandchildren, Shelby and Sadi Hubbard, Josalynn Castillo, Elizabeth and Taylor Foster, Abigail Turner, Breanne, and Kadence Edwards; his brother, JD (Kelly) Gerileg of Danville; and his sisters, Deloris (Larry) Orr of KY, Pamela Fairchild of Danville, Linda (Kenny) Reffett of Danville, and Michele Katzenmaier of AR; and his many friends. His brother, Russell Cook preceded Ray in death. Ray enjoyed socializing and meeting new people. He was a die hard St. Louis Cardinal and Dale Earnhardt NASCAR fan. He enjoyed playing cards and being with his family. A celebration of life for Raymond E. Thompson Jr. is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville. Final resting place will be at the Georgetown Cemetery. Pastor Scott McCurdy has been asked to officiate the service. Visitation will be from 10-11:00am on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the funeral home.
