Raymond Parson

Raymond "Slim" Parson, 71, of Tilton, passed away at 10:44 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Presence USMC in Danville with his wife by his side. He was born June 8, 1944 in Danville, Illinois to Frank Leroy & Frances Daisy (Rector) Parson. He wed the love of his life Linda Rife on August 14, 1965 in Danville. She survives. He will be greatly missed by two daughters, Missy Parson & Cindy Parson both of Danville; sisters,Patricia (late George) Millikin of Henning, Il. Diane Baker of Arkansas, Sherry (Brent) Marlin of Danville; sister-in-law, Grace Parson and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Many who called him "Uncle Raymond". Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; brother, Bill Parson; beloved mother-in-law, Hilda White and most recently nephew-in-law, Mike Weathers and brother-in-law, George Millikin. He was employed as a truck driver at Bredehoft and Ball, and later retired from the City of Danville Recreation Department. His hobbies included fishing trips in Kentucky, stock car racing, and family gatherings. He was also a regular at the Friday morning McDonald's breakfast club. A celebration of the life of Raymond Parson will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St in Danville. Officiating will be Matt Filiscky. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville.
