Raymond Floyd Nimrick, 74, of Tilton passed away at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville, on Tuesday July 4th, 2017 at 2:37 am. Ray was born in Danville the son of Floyd and Isabelle (Gouty) Nimrick on October 5th 1942. Ray is survived by his children, Nathan R. Nimrick of Seal Beach, CA, Ryan J. (Elizabeth) Saveley of Loves Park, Tricia A. (Keith) Peoples of Danville grandchildren Brittani (Derwin) Brandon, Anaya Peoples and Keison Peoples, two great grandchildren, Mia and Mila Gage of Chicago, one aunt Mary-Alice Smith of Brownsburg, and close friends Virgil Sheets, Ray Lacey and Howie Humblet, and his beloved dog Mischief. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Christopher Raymond. Ray was a graduate of Danville High School, he enjoyed music and played locally for years. He also owned and operated the Dew Drop Inn for many years with his father. Ray served in the National Guard. He worked at the V.A. as a Barber later opening his own shop Nimrick's Barber Shop in Tilton that he ran until his illness. He was a member at Second Church of Christ in Danville. Ray loved boating and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and all his friends. A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home 3940 N Vermilion St Danville on Sunday July 9th, 2017 from 2-4pm. With a private family service at a later date. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Ray's family asks that memorials be made in to Second Church of Christ 3350 East Voorhees St. Danville, IL, or Vermilion County Animal Shelter 14775 Catlin Tilton road, Danville, IL.
