Raymond L Zimmerman

Raymond L. Zimmerman, 86, of Tilton passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 13, 1935 the son of Floyd and Faye Zimmerman. On February 25, 1956 Raymond married the love of his life, Norma J. Hackney and they spent 65 wonderful years together, she survives.

Also surviving are children, Mark (Becky) Zimmerman, Pam (Jerry Alcorn) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Mark, Amber (Austin), Zachary, Christa, Misty (Rob), Todd (Lesley); great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Zion, Angelina, Lola, Elijah, Sam, Max, Cainan, Bruce, Natalie, Alexys, Eric, Daisy, Zoey, Jeremiah, Liam, Gavin, Autumn; great great-grandchildren, Ariah, Alyvia, and two on the way; brothers, John W. Zimmerman, Earl D. Zimmerman and sister, Mary Ann Kist.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Faye; son, Timothy Ray Zimmerman; brothers, Gene Zimmerman, Floyd Zimmerman, Don Zimmerman, Richard Zimmerman and sister, Edith Vibbert.

Raymond was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Devro TeePak after 30 years of service. Raymond was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching Illinois Basketball and NASCAR. He liked to bowl, play pool and golf. Raymond was a great singer and loved spending time socializing with his friends. He adored his family and cherished the times spent with them. Raymond will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A visitation for Raymond will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9am to 11am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery at 301 E Voorhees St, Danville, IL 61832 with Pastor James Ford officiating.

It is asked that those who plan to attend please wear a mask and follow Covid-19 guidelines.
