Mahomet Raymond John Pavesic, 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on July 12, 1958 in Evergreen Park, IL to Martin and Alice (Baduez) Pavesic. In 1976 He graduated from Thornridge High School in Dalton, IL, where he achieved all-state honors in football, which led to a full NCAA scholarship to the University of Illinois in Urbana. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts and Science. In 1978, Ray married his grade school sweetheart, Corinne C. White and they moved to Champaign. In 1983 they moved to Mahomet and began raising their family. Ray spent most of his career in sales for Frito Lay and in pharmaceutical sales. His last 13 years of his career he spent working as a National Certified Addictions Counselor until his retirement in 2018.
Ray loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His hobbies included: participating in and watching all sports, loved movies, playing cards, traveling, and he could build or fix anything. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He had an infectious laugh and incredible sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Ray is survived by his wife of 43 years, Corinne; his children Tiffany (Emil) Marcinskas, Nicole (Travis) Lambasio, and Ryan Pavesic; beloved grandchildren Emma, Landon, Liam, Avery, Brynn, and new grandchild due in the summer; his brothers and sister in laws: Paul (Ginnie) Pavesic and Ken (Jill) Pavesic; sister-in-law Maureen (late brother-in-law Dick) Naddy; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
