Raymond Harold Evans 76 of Danville went to be with the lord at 9:10 am Sunday June 5, 2005 at his residence after a long illness. He was born April 2, 1929 in Warren Co Indiana the son of John M. and Dorothy (Woodrum) Evans. He married Louella Irene Poynter on April 22, 1951 in Alvin, Il she survives also four sons Donald (Pamela) Evans of Bismarck, Terry (Patricia) Evans of Danville, Larry (Debby) Evans of Flanagan and Roger (Angie) Evans of Rantoul, three grandchildren; Mary (James) Ashlock of Streator, Bryant Lee Evans of Danville, Michael Wayne Evans of Flanagan. One great-granddaughter; Adrianna Elisabeth Ashlock of Streator, one brother; Kenneth (Mary Ann) Evans of Williamsport, In, one sister; Betty (Don) Siddens of Alvin and several Nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents. Raymond graduated with the last graduating class of Alvin High School in 1947. He was engaged in farming, construction and cabinet making, he retired from Hyster/NACCO in 1994 after 25 years of service, also serving on the Hyster fire brigade. Raymond served as a 4 H Leader, last president of the board at shake rag school and Cub Scout pack leader. He was a member of the Newell Township Historical Society, Illiana Antique Power Association and Rocky Forge Blacksmith Guild. Raymond enjoyed farm and Antique shows and especially family gatherings and special times with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He served many years at the Alvin Christian Church as a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a member and former elder of Northland Christian Church of Danville, also served as secretary and treasure of the Vermilion County Churches of Christ association, and member of the Bismarck Community Ambulance Service as a driver.
