Lodi, Ind. - Raymond Glen Bush, 73, of Lodi passed away at 5:15 a.m. EST Saturday, November 13, 2021 at his home.
Raymond was born April 17, 1948 in Clinton, Indiana the son of Charley and Zula (Trosper) Bush.
He married Ruth Ann (Baird) Harrison on November 12, 1994 in Newport, Indiana. She survives.
Other survivors include one son: Clint (Heather) Bush of Fishers, Indiana; three step-children: Jennifer (Marty) Brown of Cayuga, Indiana; Bobby (Shelly) Harrison of Perrysville, Indiana and Dana (Chad) Payne of Brownsburg, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Bryce, Benson, Brittany, Brookelyn, Braylee, Robert, Jacob, Bayli and Blade; one great-grandson: Brooks; two sisters: Irene (Richard) Omundson of Clinton, Indiana and Donna Sue Ellis of Newport, Indiana, and one brother: Orville (Teresa Learnard) Bush of Georgetown, Illinois.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Braeden Hollowell; two sisters: Martha and Mary, and seven brothers: Charles, Morris, Russell, John, Frankie, Bobby and Bill.
Raymond retired from General Motors in 2006. He was also an auctioneer. Raymond proudly served his country during the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army. Raymond was a member of the Kingman Masonic Lodge 314, Zorah Shriners, Newport American Legion Post 184, Fountain County Chapter 204 Order of the Eastern Star and the Newport Church of God.
Raymond was a graduate of Turkey Run High School and the proud President of the Alumni, which everyone heard about all year long. Even though he was a Warrior at heart, through his grandchildren he became the 'Voice of The North Vermillion Falcons'. He could always be seen across the WRC backing the Falcons and making sure the hot dogs and popcorn were hot! Raymond was a collector of all things he considered treasures and others considered junk.
Raymond was the proud owner of Bushman's Junktion, only open to select clientele. He loved scratching lotto tickets and bragging about his winnings. Raymond was a proud Bush and an avid storyteller. In the spring he loved mushrooming and getting on his Kubota and tilling his gardens. Raymond had a tough exterior but a kind and giving heart, and was always helping people in need. Most of all he loved his family and was so proud of his grandchildren.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Thursday, November 18, 2021 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor John Hawkins; Burial with Honors: Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the funeral home with Masonic services following. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Braeden Hollowell Scholarship Fund, C/O Jennifer Brown, 3486 West 250 North, Cayuga, Indiana 47928 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
