Danville, Ill. -- Ray Arnold Gossett, 70, a resident of Danville for the past 28 years and formerly of Kingman, Indiana, passed away at 8:51 a.m. CDT Saturday August 9, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was born August 7, 1938 in Tangier, Indiana, the son of the late Straudy and Martha Stella Mitchell Gossett, Sr. Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Gossett of Dermott, Arkansas; three sons, David Gossett of Dermott, Arkansas; Danny Gossett of Monticello, Arkansas and Adam Gossett of Richmond, Indiana; several grandchildren; five sisters, Cathy Graham of Danville, Illinois; Helen Thomas of Tangier, Indiana; Martha White of Attica, Indiana; Elizabeth Larimer of Gibson City, Illinois and Betty Gearheart of Kingman, Indiana; three brothers, Straudy Gossett, Jr. of Veedersburg, Indiana; Rommey Gossett of Terre Haute, Indiana and Roy Gossett of Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Gossett. Ray was a retired wrecking yard dealer in the Kingman, Indiana area. He attended the Tangier schools. Graveside services and burial: 11a.m. EDT Monday, August 11, 2008 at Ephlin Cemetery in rural Howard, Indiana. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
