Ray Acord

Ray Acord, 84, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on December 15, 2024. He was born August 18, 1940, in Danville, Illinois to the late Doyne and Helen Acord.

 Ray is survived by his daughters Lora Hughes and Carolyn McKinney, grandchildren Brandon Hughes and Elizabeth Hughes, great-grandchild Beau Hughes, brother Daune (Martha) Acord, Aunts Etha, Shirley, and Cleta, nephews Ben Acord and Dan Acord, niece Jennifer Hess, and 4 great nephews.

 He was proceeded in death by his parents, and sons John Acord and David Acord.

 Ray served 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sargent. He enjoyed watching old westerns and listing to country music. His favorite activities involved going hunting and going to the Legion every night to meet up with friends.

 In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to American Legion Post 0210 (201 Prospect Pl, Danville, IL 61832)

 Visitation will be held from 9:30AM – 10:30AM Friday, December 20, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61832. Followed by burial at Danville National Cemetery, 1900 E Main St, Danville, IL 61832.
