Danville- Raquel E. Brucker, 57, of Danville passed away at 9:04 AM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on December 19, 1954 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Juan and Petra Ibarra Montelongo. She married Ray E. Brucker on June 28, 1975 in Gibson City, IL. He survives. Also surviving are a son Michael Brucker; daughter Nichole Brucker; three brothers, Jose Juan (Margarita) Montelongo, Jorge (Brenda) Montelongo, and Marco (Leticia) Montelongo; six sisters, Rosalba (Rogelio) Hernandez, Maria Magdalena Mancillas, Yolanda Gonzalez, Nora Palomo, Rosalinda (Mario) Gonzalez and Nancy (Joey) Mechanik; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a niece Esmerelda Hernandez, mother-in-law Norma Brucker, father Juan Montelongo, father-in-law Lyle Brucker, and mother Petra Montelongo. Raquel was a graduate of Gibson City High School. She became a CNA and worked for Carle Hospital in Hospice, Homecare, Roger 8 and Stepdown. She attended the Vineyard Church in Danville and enjoyed watching cooking shows, especially Rachel Ray and Paula Dean. She also loved family gatherings for any occasion. Raquel will be remembered as a loving mother and wife. She was a very compassionate and understanding individual. She never judged and accepted everyone, which is why she went into the medical field. She loved her job. Raquel had a profound impact on everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A service to celebrate the life of Raquel Brucker will be held at 12 PM on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Vineyard Church in Danville. Pastor Jay Sorrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Drummer Township cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, January 26, also at the Vineyard in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carle Hospice.
