Randy Allen Roller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated craftsman, passed away on June 21, 2026 at the age of 71. Born on April 9, 1955, in Danville, Illinois, to Philip and Waneta Roller, Randy lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
A man of remarkable presence, Randy possessed a natural ability to fill any room with laughter, love, and captivating stories. He never met a stranger; he was always eager to share a joke, offer a kind word, or provide a listening ear to those around him.
A master welder and skilled tradesman, Randy took great pride in his work. He spent 30 years as a millwright at General Motors, where he took immense satisfaction in being part of the dedicated workforce that produced some of America's finest vehicles. During his tenure at GM, he also owned and operated R&R Welding in Georgetown, Illinois. He was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and his signature wit, often humorously remarking that he could weld anything—except a broken heart.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Randy’s greatest joy was found in the company of his family. He was a constant and enthusiastic fixture at his grandsons' sporting events and competitions, where his voice was always heard cheering them on to success. Outside of his family life, he was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in fishing and hunting, and a passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast who embraced the freedom of the open road.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Philip Allen Roller and Waneta Roller.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Sherri, of Seymour, Indiana; his son, Dustin (Kallie) Roller of North Vernon, Indiana; his daughter, Danielle (Andrew) Kirk of Columbus, Indiana; and his four beloved grandsons: Allen, Alex, Hank, and Wally; and his sister Cindy (Ray) Smith of Hume, Illinois.
A Celebration of Randy's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel 200 East West Street Georgetown, Illinois, on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 1pm. Burial will follow at Young America Cemetery. Visitation for Randy will be at the funeral home from 11-1.
