Kingman, Ind. -- Randy L. Bowling, 59, of Kingman, passed away at 4:33 p.m. EDT Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in Kingman. He was born October 27, 1949 in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Robert S. and Evelyn M. McDonald Bowling. In 1979 he married Jody Marshall Turner, helping her to raise her daughter, Ginger. Randy and Jody divorced, but remained close friends until her death July 7, 2003. Survivors include his daughter, Ginger(John)Cooper of Covington, Indiana; granddaughter and grandson, Macie and Tyler Cooper; two sisters, Regina Brewer of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Teresa Hall of Silverwood, Indiana; seven brothers, David(Clara)Bowling of Ft. Myers, Florida; Roger Bowling of Kingman, Indiana; Charles(Judy)Bowling of Beloit, Wisconsin; Kevin Bowling of Kingman, Indiana; Tim(Rhonda)Bowling of Buena Vista, Arkansas; Shane(Ronda)Bowling of Covington, Indiana and Todd(Renda)Bowling of Cates, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary "Doc" Bowling. Randy retired from the Indiana State Highway Department (Veedersburg) in 1989. He attended Cates Grade School and Covington High School. Randy enjoyed meeting people and getting to know them. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren and nephews sporting events, especially softball and baseball. He enjoyed playing cards, working word search puzzles, farming and going to the OTB in Danville until it's closing. He loved hanging out at the Covington Pizza King. Randy especially enjoyed spending time with his best friends, Mike(Yvonne)Reissman and Greg(Nancy)Harrison. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. William Nickle; Burial: Kingman Fraternal Cemetery in Kingman, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Monday, September 21, 2009 at the funeral home. The family request contributions may be made in C/O DeVerter Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
