DANVILLE - Ramona R. Ribbe, 78, of Danville peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 21, 1936 in Danville, she was the daughter of Howard E. and Mary Pundt Shank. On May 1, 1993, she married James A. Ribbe Sr. in Danville. Ramona ran the switchboard at Chuckles Candy Factory for many years. After her time at Chuckles, she was an Administrative Assistant for Central State in Danville. Ramona enjoyed golfing in her earlier years and she was an avid reader. She started every day with a bottle of Starbucks mocha and her crossword puzzles. But, above all else, Ramona loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, James A. Ribbe Sr.; two children, Marcia (Bill) Hodges of Danville and Michael (BethAnn) Schroeder of Indianapolis; two stepchildren, James A. Jr. (Cheryl) Ribbe of Bismarck and Julie McQuown of Danville; three siblings, Sam (Janet) Shank of Danville, Mary Cole of Florida and John (Helen) Shank of Erie, PA; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, BT 1 Stephen Schroeder. A service to celebrate Ramonas life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastors Melinda Tucker and Don Prouty officiating. Burial will follow at Gundy Cemetery, Bismarck. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for Danville First United Methodist Church.
