RAMONA MONA BABY MAY SHAW Ramona Mona Baby May Denney Shaw, 81, of Danville, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Mona was born on May 8, 1928 in Danville, the daughter of Leonard and Hattie Fay (Jones) Wienke. She married James Denney in 1944 in Danville. He preceded her in death. She later married William Shaw in 1958 in Danville. He also preceded her in death. She is survived by one son- Terry Denney of Danville; three daughters- Nancy Loehle of LaPlata, Maryland, Connie Denney of Danville and Shelley (Bryan) Elliott of Fithian; two brothers- Ralph (Georgia) Wienke of Independence, Missouri and Roy Wienke of Danville; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son- John Shaw, one daughter- Carol Denney, one sister- Ruby Wienke and one great-granddaughter- Makayla Flores. Mona attended Cannon Grade School. She was a homemaker and matriarch of the family. She enjoyed shopping and decorating her home. She loved spending time with her family and her best friend- Bertha Leftwitch. A Celebration of the life of Ramona Mona May Shaw will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Curt Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Springhill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Monas name.
