Ramon Hernandez

Ramon Hernandez, 66, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:36am, Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born on December 15, 1948, in Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Santos and Maria Guadalupe Carrillo Hernandez. He was united in marriage to Phyliss Juvinall on June 13, 1977 in Danville, IL. She survives. He is also survived by: his children, Ana Maria (John) O'Toole of Georgetown, Lupe Maria Foley of Georgetown, Alisha Kay (Andrew) Barbee of Danville, Angela Sue (John) Osborn of Ridge Farm, Patricia Lynn (Robert) Williams of Indianola, & Ramon Jr. (Jamie) Hernandez of Georgetown; his 18 grandchildren; his 2 sisters & 7 brothers; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Leroy Hernandez. Ramon was a hard worker and had served in the Mexican Army. He enjoyed hiking in the woods, enjoying nature and loved animals of all kinds. He loved watching his grandkids play baseball. He also enjoyed having a vegetable garden and flowers. Most of all, Ramon cherished his family and being with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Ramon's life will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Michael Gnaden officiating. Visitation will be 4-8pm, Monday, June 15, 2015, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville. Memorial donations may be given to his family.
