Ramon D. Harper

Ramon Dane Harper, 80, of Danville passed away March 27, 2018. Ramon was born May 21, 1937 at Cayuga, IN, the son of the late Dane and Mary Lucille Harper. He married Eva B. Miller April 23, 1960 at the Foursquare Gospel Church in Danville by his Uncle Reverend James Harvey. Surviving are a daughter, Laurie (Ray) Downing; 2 grandsons, Steven and William Downing; a son, Bryan Dane Harper; one sister, Ramona (Bud) Logan and in-laws, Harvey (Shirley) Miller of Danville; Pearl Davis of West Lafayette, IN and several nieces and nephews. Ramon had served in the United States Navy, the Indiana National Guard and the Army Reserves. Ramon had worked various jobs and retired after 25 years from General Motors. Ramon was a member of Second Church of Christ, studying his Bible and reading several authors and listening to gospel CD's. He had a special love for his cats. Memorials may be made in his name to the Second Church of Christ or Fairchild Animal Hospital. A celebration of life graveside service for Ramon will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1 PM at Danville National Cemetery with military rites performed by Danville American Legion Post #210.
