Ralph Tutwiler

Ralph "Ed" Tutwiler Jr., age, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home in Oakwood. He was born on March 29, 1958, the son of Phyllis (Lathrop) and Ralph Tutwiler in Danville, IL.

Ralph leaves behind his two sons, Ralph (Laura) Tutwiler and Jimmy Tutwiler; 8 grandchildren, Levi, Titus, Asher, Lilyanne, Aleythia, Ada, Phineas, and Boone; sister, Lindia Tutwiler; and his Husky mix, Forest.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; as well as two sons, Samuel Tutwiler and Daniel Tutwiler; brother Mark Tutwiler; and grandson, Simeon Tutwiler.

Ed, as most knew him, was a former marine who thought he was a cowboy growing up. He was a man who loved work. Even in retirement he stayed busy whether it was helping sister take care of property or finding side jobs just to stay busy. He was always willing to help where he could. He loved working and being busy. He also loved fishing. He participated in many fishing tournaments, while winning his fair share.

More than anything else, he loved his family and would do what he could for them. He may not have always been able to show that love, but in the end, he loved his family and always wanted what was best for them. His pride and joy were his 8 grandchildren. He was not a man to show emotion and cry but, saying bye to the grandchildren after a visit always brought those rare tears to his eyes.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements and per his wishes he will be cremated.
