Ralph Lee Boggess

Ralph Lee Boggess, 86, of Georgetown, Illinois, took the Lord's hand to be with Him at 4:30pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL. He was born March 15, 1929 in Sidell to parents Roy and Gladys (Kunkle) Boggess. He was united in marriage to Eula Aleen Felgenhauer on January 19, 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Joseph, Jack, and Donald; one sister, Louise; and one daughter, Debra Kay. He is survived by: one brother, Roy (Ruth); two sisters, Martha Elizabeth Pollock and Pauline (Jack) Downes; his children, Cheryl Ann (Bruce) Deckard of Delray Beach, Florida, Paula Jo (Jerry) Holmes of Covington, Indiana, and Jeffrey Lee (Jenni) Boggess of Greenwood, Indiana; seven grandsons, Eric (Christina), Nathan, Justin (Sarah), Nicholas, Jacob, Adam, and Matthew; one granddaughter, Grace; two great-granddaughters, Katelyn and Abigail; and one great-grandson, Jacob. Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked for the CSX Railroad as a conductor for 32 years. He was a member of the Shriner's Lodge in Danville and was a 3rd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge of Georgetown. Ralph loved to learn about our Lord Jesus and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Officiating will be Pastor James Britton. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Friday, May 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
