Danville - Ralph Heath, 89, of Danville, IL passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 12:47 AM at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, IL. Ralph was born the son of Leroy and Hattie Klahn Heath in Worcester, MA on April 10, 1927. He married Mildred Smith on April 21, 1947 in Covington, IN. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2007. Survivors include one son: Eddie Heath of Danville, one sister; Olive Green of Alabama, five grandchildren: DiAnna (Danial) Tooker of Veedersburg, IN, Tracy Messer (Shane Ritchie) of Covington, IN, Chazz (Linda) Fuqua of Sardis, MS, Mark (Nicole) Heath of Georgetown, IL and Amy (Pete) Faltraco of New Port Richey, FL, 12 great-grandchildren: Nicole Blankenbeckler, William (Brandi) Blankenbeckler, Michael Thornsbrough, Shane Heath, Jessica Sisney, Jeremey, Annabella, Lydia, Dayton, Derek, Trevor, and Micah, 6 great great-grandchildren: Kaydyn, Hayley, Lylah, Riley, Belleanna, and Kal-El and a special family friend Martha Donna of Danville, IL. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Mildred, one son: Roger Heath, one daughter: Dianna Heath, as well as two brothers: Richard and Charles and two sisters: Helen and Dorothy. Ralph was a WW II Navy Veteran and attained the rank of Seaman and is a member of the American Legion Post 210 in Danville, IL. He owned and or operated several service stations and auto repair centers in Danville, most recently, Heath Automotive which he purchased in 1977. At one time, Ralph collected milk from Indiana farms and delivered it to the Meadow Gold Dairy operation in Danville, IL. He enjoyed spending his free time playing golf and Euchre and playing with his dog; Booger. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday June 1, 2016 Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post 210. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
