Ralph 'Cutie' Dines

Cutie Dines, 83, of Danville passed away on February 3, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Ralph was born May 28, 1926 in Danville son of Ralph and Ercel Watson Dines. He married Marjorie Pittman on December 30, 1944 in Danville. She preceded him in death on November 9, 1988. Survivors include six children: Jerry JD (Donna) Dines of Bismarck, Mike (Connie) Dines of Hardenville, MO, Danny (Karen) Dines of Georgetown, Gary Dines of Danville, Connie (Allen) Reed of Danville, and Bonnie (Larry) Cook of Danville; brothers: Max (Sue) Dines of Danville and Ron Tiny Dines of Danville; sisters: Ruth Patton of Danville, Beverly Mills of Danville, Barbara (Harry) Clapp of Danville, Caroline Pichon of Danville, Linda (Jack) Smith of Danville, and Sandy (Larry) Steinbaugh of Alvin, eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. His parents and four brothers Gerald, Bill, Don, and Larry preceded him in death. Ralph was a 44 graduate of Bismarck High School and had served during WWII in the U.S. Army. He retired from Berkley-Davis after 38 years of service. Ralph was an avid Cubs & Illini fan, devoted republican, loved going to rummage sales, taking random pictures, and enjoyed listening to the scanner monitoring Danvilles events. However, above all paw loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A Celebration of Ralphs Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday February 8, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Rev. James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-5 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, a private graveside will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
