Ralph C. Schultz, born July 20, 1918, in Danville, to Adolph F. and Maude M. (Schimmel) Schultz, peacefully passed away July 24, 2015 in Danville, IL at the age of 97. Ralph had a passion for fishing, loved to watch boxing, and enjoyed gardening. When Ralph retired as a cabinet maker, his woodworking talents did not cease. He built furniture, bird houses, and various other toys, etc. for family members and friends. He learned to play songs "by ear" and often could be seen playing it from the opposite side. He will be missed by his loving wife, Fleeta Hicks Schultz, of 73 years. They were married Jan. 22, 1942 in Champaign, Ill. Ralph leaves behind his dear children, Stephen (Clellene) Schultz, and Lawrence (Molly) Schultz; his grandchildren, Renee (Lori Perdue) Schultz, Denise (Jim) Murphy, Julie (Doug) Cunningham, Rich (Diane) Lazzell, Scott (Christine) Lazzell, Robert (Becky) Lazzell, and Jeremy (Tina) Lazzell; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; a dear brother, Alvin (Kay) Schultz; along with many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Howard Schultz and Lawrence Schultz; his sisters, Harriet Meadows and Marion Berthold.
