Rachel Cleoma Baker

Covington, Ind. - Rachel Cleoma Baker, 94, formerly of Parke County, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 a.m. EST Sunday, February 15, 2015 at The Waters of Covington. She was born April 1, 1920 in Martinsville, Illinois the daughter of the late Laura Walker Higginbotham and William Higginbotham. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra(James)Stephenson of West Lebanon, Indiana and Sharon(Henry)O'Dell of Pinckeyville, Illinois; one son, C. LeRoy(Cyndia)Jones of Charleston, Illinois; ten grandchildren; sixteen greatgrandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren, and one sister, Martha Banks of Danville, Illinois. Rachel was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Rachel was a homemaker. She attended the Wesleyan Church in Mecca, Indiana. Rachel enjoyed sewing, word search puzzles, bingo and playing cards with her grandchildren. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Friday, February 20, 2015 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Barbara Clodfelter. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held later at Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola, Illinois.
