Quincy O'Neil Scott, 82, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:29am, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana. He was born on February 27, 1935, in Saltillo, MS, the son of Charlie & Ella (House) Scott. He was united in marriage to Faye Redd on February 8, 1957, until her passing January 14, 2015. He will be dearly missed by son, Quincy (Katy) Scott Jr; daughter, Laurie (Chuck McNeese) Tibbs; brothers, Buddy Scott, Wayne (Larue) Scott, & Joe (Sherry) Scott; sister, Polly Harris; sister in law, Kolleen Scott; grandchildren, Angela Tibbs, Valerie (Jay) Chapman, Alex Scott, & Loren (Dillon Harris) Scott; great-grandchildren, Ridley Chapman, Cassidy Bowen, & two on the way in July. Quincy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Alice Scott; sisters, Laura Lee Payne & Anna Wood; brothers, Bobby Scott & Virgil (Marlene) Scott; brother in law, Willie Harris. Quincy enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, & cheering on the Chicago Cubs. A celebration of Quincy's life will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Pastor James Blue Officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
