Priscilla Briones Jabines

Danville – Priscilla Briones Jabines, 94, of Danville passed away at 11:08 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Goldwater Care of Danville. She was born on January 13, 1932, in Cebu City, Philippines to Justino and Eugenia (Resurreccion) Briones. She married Leo L. Jabines on June 20, 1957, in Cebu City. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2019.

She is survived by three children, Dr. Haydee Jabines-Stewart of Danville, Ingrid (Gary) Sly of Saucier, MS, and Edgar (Thelma) Jabines of the Philippines; eight grandchildren, Dr. Allie (Pete) Wroblewski, Neil (Mary) Abella, Dawn Abella, Daniel John “DJ” Abella, Dr. Egerses Leo Jabines, Eros Tristan (Hannah) Jabines, Ellaine Precille (Jimfil) Jabines, and Elisha Jabines; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Charlie, Claire, Annabelle, Lewis, Eden, and Elias; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Trifina, and a brother, Manuel.

Priscilla and her husband, Leo, owned and operated a dry goods retail store in the Philippines until it was forced to close following a fire. After moving to the United States, they selflessly worked to ensure their children could receive a good education. This was a mission they believed in as they continued to offer support to other family members as well, allowing them to pursue higher education. Helping others was always first and foremost for Priscilla. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed reading religious books and regularly attended church until her husband’s health kept her by his side.

A service to celebrate the life of Priscilla Jabines will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834. Pastor Ken Cameron will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset in Danville.
