Phyllis N. Nelson

Danville - Phyllis N. Nelson, 92, of Danville passed away at 6:50 PM on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on February 23, 1922 in Pittsville, WI, the daughter of Aaron and Alice Meyer VanDan. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by six children, William Boyer of Pampa, TX, Nila Pierce of Westville, Judy Meinert of Versailles, IN, Alice Polak of Davenport, FL, Donna (Wayne) Perry of Millbrook, AL, and James (Marcia) Boyer of Geneseo, IL; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis worked in the deli department at K-Mart until her retirement in 1980. She was very active alongside her fellow K-Mart retirees, teaching craft classes at the CRIS senior center. Phyllis was talented at knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and loved to share these things during her classes. She would also often help out at the Fall Festival. A service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Nelson will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Walnut Corner Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 12-1 PM prior to the service on Thursday, also at Sunset in Danville.
