Phyllis M. Mattingly

Phyllis M. Mattingly, 81, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born in Allerton, IL on June 27, 1940, the daughter of William and Opal Gaffney. On January 31, 1964, she married Oden E Mattingly and they spent 31 years together before his passing in April of 1996.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Wilbur (Kim) Mattingly, Cindy (Rick) Warren, Robert Weller, Kathy Brewer; niece, Brenda Davis; nephews, Ronald Gaffney, Kyle Gaffney; close friend, Cindy Varner, 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 6 step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Tina and brother, Ronald Gaffney.

Phyllis loved spending time with her family and animals and enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches. She was a caring woman who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Phyllis will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery. Her family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 in handling funeral arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made in Phyllis name to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
