Phyllis J. Vandenberg

Phyllis J. Vandenberg 74 of Hoopeston Died at 6:22 pm Monday January 10, 2005 at 25296 St. Rt.49 Pilot Twp as a result of a single automobile accident. She was born September 19, 1930 in Rossville the daughter of Leslie and Mary Batteshell Bray. Phyllis married Edgar S. Vandenberg on January 1, 1953 in Rossville; he preceded her September 7, 1994. Surviving one son Les "Butch" (Sandy) Vandenberg of Hoopeston, two granddaughters Sumer (Darrin) Horton of Hoopeston and Suzy Vandenberg of Champaign. Also friends Ruth (Howard) Brazel of Rossville. Phyllis was preceded by her parents and one brother Wendel. Phyllis graduated from Rossville High School and later enrolled in the very first class at Danville Beauty School. She had been a hairdresser for over fifty years in Rossville and Hoopeston. Phyllis enjoyed watching Illini Basketball.
