Phyllis J Smith

Phyllis Joan Smith, 95, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was born in Marshall, IL on December 27, 1926, the daughter of Arthur and Alma (Pine) Tingley. On August 3, 1952, she married Robert "Bob" E. Smith and they spent 61 wonderful years together before his passing in March of 2014.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Amy Crouch, Lee Golden; grandsons, Jason Mock, Joshua Mock; great grandchildren, Elijah Mock, Isaiah Mock, Hannah Mock, Madeline Mock, Owen Mock and sister, Sarah Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Karen Jenson.

Phyllis retired from the University of Illinois after 30 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bridge and watching Illini basketball. She adored her family and loved to entertain during the holiday. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Mahomet, Illinois, 1102 Churchill Rd., Mahomet, IL 61853.
