Phyllis J. Neild

Danville, Ill. - Phyllis J. Neild, 72, of Danville and formerly of Veedersburg, Indiana passed away at 5:05 p.m. CDT Thursday, October 18, 2018 at her residence.

She was born August 19, 1946 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Herschel and Mattie (Douglas) Steele.

Survivors include her children: Mark Cordrey of Sumner, Illinois; Christina (James) Carrier of Veedersburg, Indiana; Stephanie Cordrey of Georgetown, Illinois and Amanda (Clifford) Gauf of Danville, Illinois; eighteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister: Sharon Cox of Chrisman, Illinois; two brothers: Harry Hinkle of Indianapolis, Indiana and Donald Steele of Lodi, Indiana.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter: Michelle Burnett; three sisters and two brothers.

Phyllis formerly attended the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene. She was a 1964 graduate of Cayuga High School. She was a former member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting, word puzzle books, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services: 1 p.m. EDT Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, October 23, 2018 until time of services at the funeral home.
