Her patience was matched only by her kind and gentle way. Among her favorite pass times were knitting, yardwork, reading, scrapbooking, and traveling with her husband after retirement. Her greatest joys in life came from family and friends. Although apprehensive about her son joining the Marines, one of her proudest moments in life was attending Randalls Marine Corp graduation in San Diego, CA. Time spent with her grandson, Coleman, during his toddler years again gave her the opportunity to teach. Among the many things she taught him were how to play chess and how to write in cursive. She never tired of reading Dr. Seuss and Wheres Waldo, no matter how many times he asked. As he grew older she enjoyed attending school events, especially Grandparents Day.
