Phyllis L. Brooks, 78, of Georgetown, passed away at 12:26pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born on April 25, 1938, in Georgetown the daughter of Eugene and Elsie {Blakeney} Mollett, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Brooks on March 3, 1957, in Georgetown, until his passing on September 2, 1994. She will be sadly missed by: her children, Robin (Doug) Wadsworth & Eric (Karla) Brooks, both of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Brandon Brooks, Blake Wadsworth, Brooks Wadsworth, Jordan Taylor, Lexi Brooks, & Ethan Brooks; her great grandchild, Journey Cooper; her brother, Larry (Pearl) Mollett of Marshall, IL; her sister, Nancy (Bob) Brown of Catlin, IL; her nieces & nephews, whom were all very special in her heart; and her special friend, Sandy Stephenson of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by: her sons, Tim & David Brooks; her sisters, Marge Walczak & Carol Gilkison; her brothers, Eugene Mollett & Billy Mollett; and her grandson, Kyle Brooks. Phyllis had worked as a cook at the Georgetown School District and as a secretary at the Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. She was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. She loved to cook and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Illini. Phyllis always went to her grandchildren's sporting events, as well as being there for family occasions. She was also known to enjoy watching the "Days of Our Lives." She loved spending time with her High School friends who managed to keep close over the years. Above all else, Phyllis cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service for Phyllis will be held at 3pm, Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue & Pastor Jerry Silver officiating. Visitation will be held 1pm-3pm on Sunday prior to her service at the funeral home. As were her wishes, Phyllis will be cremated. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Parkinson's Disease Research or American Diabetes Foundation.
