Phillip Phil Ray Sanks, 65, of Danville, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at his residence. Phil was born on September 13, 1940 in Danville, the son of Raymond and Edith (Phillips) Sanks. He married Rosemary Rosie Lane on March 27, 1963 in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by his two sons- Johnnie (Tina) Sanks of Danville and Chad Sanks of Panama City, Florida; one daughter- Darla (Manuel) Elias of Panama City, Florida; one sister- Pat Myers of Champaign, Illinois; six grandchildren- Jessica Sanks, Emyle Sanks, Brandon Sanks, Dallas Sanks, Joshua Elias, and Scott Elias; one brother-in-law- Tom (Pam) Lane of Danville; one sister-in-law- Sue (Jerry) Davis of Danville; He is also survived by his three very special pet, Prince, Angel, and Kirby. He was preceded in death by his parents. Phil was retired from General Motors after working there for 20 years. He has worked part-time at the AutoZone returns for the past 6 years. He was a member of the Vermilion County Fishing Club. Phil was also a member of UAW Local #579. He loved to go camping and fishing. Phil enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Phillip Phil Ray Sanks will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 24, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent in Phils name to Rileys Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis.
