Phillip Lee Farris

Phillip L. Farris, age 85, of Sevierville, TN, formerly of Rossville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church and a 32nd degree Mason. Phillip graduated from Purdue University in 1957, with a degree in Agronomy and a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. He retired in 1993, after 21 years as President of 1st National Bank of Rossville. He moved to east Tennessee in 2002, settling in Tellico Village, outside of Knoxville, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Leo and Laverne Farris. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Mae Farris; children, Terry (Judy) Farris and Diana (Scott) Hanthorne; grandsons, Matt (Sarah) Farris, Adam (Kelsey) Hanthorne, and Dustin (Janett) Farris; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Jase, Truly and Nell; sister, Donna (Don) Sanders; and nephews, David and Drew Sanders. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment to immediately follow in Mann's Chapel Cemetery with military honors provided by Danville American Legion Post #210.
