Phillip Greene

GEORGETOWN - Phillip Greene, 79, passed away at 7:10am, Friday, June 22nd, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on November 11th, 1927, in Georgetown the son of Melvin and Gladine (Branham) Greene, both deceased. He married to Audrey Woodard on June 4th, 1930, in Georgetown. She preceded him in death on February 15th, 2006. Those who will miss him include: his children, Terry (Janet) Greene, Micki (Bob) Lack; his grandchildren, Courtney Mains, Cindy Lack, Kyle Greene, & Michelle Greene; his great grandchild, Ryelee Mains, all reside in Georgetown. Phillip was a US Naval Veteran. He later worked at Hyster Company and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Georgetown Friends Meeting and the Dornblaser American Legion Post 203 of Georgetown. He was a faithful helper during the annual Georgetown Christmas Basket Program. He helped to build wheelchair ramps for Faith in Action-South. Phillip enjoyed being outdoors. He was especially fond of spending time with his family and friends. A funeral service for Phillip will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 25th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor Jerry Vincent will officiate the service. A visitation will be held from 2pm to 6pm, Sunday, June 24th, 2007, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Pleasant Mounds Cemetery located west of Georgetown. Memorial donations in Phillips name can be given to Georgetown Friends Meeting Kings Kids Youth Group.
