Phillip G. Arivett, 63, of Danville passed away on July 11, 2021 at his home. He was born on October 12, 1957 in Benton Harbor, Michigan a son of Charlotte and Jake Arivett. His mother, Charlotte Wilson, survives. Also surviving are his sons, Christopher W. Arivett of Sikeston, Missouri, Shawn D. Arivett of Cullman, Alabama, and USMC SSgt. Daniel S. Arivett of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. His grandchildren are Tristen and Jaxon Arivett of Huntsville, Alabama; Derrick, Justin, and Chloe Arivett of Minot, North Dakota; Alivia and Aric Arivett of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Dakota and Peyton Arivett of Collinsville, Illinois. He also leaves behind his brothers Gary T. (Sherry) Arivett of Henning, Illinois, and Billy W. (Carla) Arivett of Coweta, Oklahoma; 10 nieces and 2 nephews; 4 adoptive brothers; and 3 adoptive sisters.

He is reunited in death with his wife Sonya, his father, Jake, and his stepfather, Ed Wilson.

Phil was an honest and loving husband and father. He was so proud of his boys and was always firm, but fair when raising them. He was forever full of life and humor. Phil always wanted to make those around him laugh and always sought out an opportunity to help someone. He was musically inclined- he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and piano. He had a great love for God and was a faithful servant. He was a member of the Shiloh Apostolic Church in Henning and even was a founder of an Apostolic Church in the Philippines.

Phil was a combat engineer and retired from the military and the VA in Danville after over 20 years of sacrifice for his country.

A funeral service celebrating Phils life will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Apostolic Church, located at 435 Main Street in Henning, Illinois. His family will be greeting guests from 9:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service Friday at the church. His brother Gary Arivett will be officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Danville National Cemetery following services.
