Phillip D. Axtell

Eugene, Ind. - Phillip D. Axtell, 76, of Eugene passed away at 10:28 p.m. EST Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Union Hospital in Clinton, Indiana.

He was born May 28, 1942 in Dalton, Illinois the son of the late George W. and Emma G. (East) Axtell.

Survivors include three daughters: Laurie Cervantes of Texas, Charity (Akira) Hirose of Cayuga, Indiana and Shannan Axtell of Eugene, Indiana; five grandchildren: Sky Yeung, Cole Hirose, Aden Hirose, Samantha Cervantes and Andrew Cervantes; sister: Peggy Yoho of Eugene, Indiana and life long companion: Jennifer Hawn of Eugene, Indiana.

Phillip was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Iris Yeung and several sisters and brothers.

Phillip formerly owned and operated Axtell Caf in Cayuga, Indiana. He was a 1961 graduate of Cayuga High School. His memberships include the Perrysville Unity Lodge #344 and Cayuga Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed collecting coke and John Deere memorabilia. Phillip was also an avid coin collector. He mostly enjoyed restoring his 1964 Cadillac.

Graveside services and burial: Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. EST at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana. Officiating: Pastor John Gouldfuss. There will be no visitation.
