GEORGETOWN- Philip P. Smith, 42 of Georgetown, passed away at 9:05pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his residence with his wife and family at his side. Mr. Smith was born on June 1, 1964, in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank A. and Martha J. (Priest) Smith. On May 4, 1990, Phil married Ms. Diane (Lack) in Georgetown. She survives and will miss him dearly. Other family members that will miss Phil include: his mother, Martha; his three sons, Johnny R. Collins, Matthew T. (Lenn) Collins, and Donald L. Wagner all originally of Georgetown; his four grandchildren, Cassandra Collins, Trinity Collins, Jonathan Collins and Lexy Collins; his brother; John J. Smith of Westville; and his sister; Cathy (Paul) Britton of Westville. He is preceded in death by his father, his maternal and paternal grandparents. Phil was employed with Curry Trucking Company as a CDL truck driver with the C.B. handle, Dr. Phil. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography. Phil was a Ham Radio Operator, and enjoyed making people laugh. He cherished his time spent with his family and friends. A celebration of the life of Mr. Philip Smith is scheduled for 10:00am on Monday, August 28, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Sorrell will officiate the service. Final resting place has been chosen at Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held between 2-4pm on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at the funeral home.
