Perry Harlan Linne

Perry Harlan Linne, 82, of Pittsboro, N.C., formerly of Danville, IL, passed away at 3:51pm on Friday, May 8, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Linne was born March 15, 1927 in Danville, the son of Mr. Frank H. and Mrs. Marie (Makemson) Linne. Perry married Ms. Mary Ann Hawkins on March 21, 1964. She survives along with their daughter, Michele (Gene) Taylor of Chapel Hill N.C., his brother, Robert (Shirley) Linne of Collierville, TN, his three sisters, Louise Belle (Ed) Blevans, of Danville, Juli Ann Grider, of Danville, Ruth Nicholson, of Kailua, HI, and his three grandsons, Alex, Colin, and Cole Taylor. His parents and his two brothers, John and Frank Linne preceded Perry in death. Perry was a proud United States Navy veteran, serving during WWII, and the Korean Conflict. He worked for the railroad for 28 years, as well as teaching high school and college. While living in Danville, Perry was a member of the Danville Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Danville American Legion Post #210. A graveside service for Perry Harlan Linne will begin at 10:00am on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville with military honors being presented by the Danville American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be from 4:00pm -8:00pm on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville.
