Perry Hardesty

Perry Wayne Hardesty, 39, of Danville and formerly of Westville passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 1, 1974, in Danville, the son of Robert and Pamela (VanVickle) Hardesty. He married Shannon Forbis in Danville in 1996. They enjoyed many years together. Perry is survived by: one son, Collin Hardesty; three daughters, Meghan and Penelopie “PK” Hardesty and Hannah Hardesty-Reed; his Dad, Robert Eugene Hardesty Jr.; a girlfriend, Laura Bennett; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Pamela, and brother, Greg. Perry graduated from Westville H.S. with the class of 1994. He went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp. from 1995 until 1998. Perry earned a National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Rifle Marksman Badge and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He loved spending time with his children and was an amateur chef. He often treated his family to homemade cabbage rolls or meatloaf. Perry loved to relax along a riverbank after dark with a line in the water. He will definitely be missed by his loved ones. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Faith Church in Fairmount. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel assisted family with arrangements.
