Perry F. Shaw

Perry F. Shaw, 91, of Westville, passed away at 7:40pm, Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at his home. He was born on February 24, 1925, in Roann, Indiana, the son of Perry F. and Violet {Young} Shaw. He was united in marriage to Mary LeClaire on September 7, 1952, in Danville, IL. Those who will also miss him include: his wife, Mary Shaw of Westville; his sons, James (Valerie) Shaw of St. Joseph, MI, and John (Susan) Shaw of Decatur, IL; his daughters, Jo Shaw of Danville and Jill (Chip) Palmer of Georgetown; his daughter-in-law, Karen Shaw of Palatine, IL; his sister, Maree Hand of Bloomington, IL; his 12 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Jeffrey; his two brothers; and one sister. Perry was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII in the Seabees 25th Special Battalion. He loved working in the yard and helping his children with home improvement projects. Perry retired from Sears in Danville as a Kitchen Designer. Afterwards, he worked at Home Depot in Florida up until he was 87. He loved to go fishing and gardening. He cherished the time he spent with his family, but his greatest love was his wife, Mary. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him. As per his wishes, Perry will be cremated. Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Perry's name to Carle Hospice Care, 206 W Anthony Drive, Champaign, IL, 61822.
