Penny Woolwine

Penny Sue Woolwine, 69, of Kingman, IN, passed away at 10:00pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at her home with her partner, Phillip Sams, by her side who provided love, support, and care for the past five years. She was born the daughter of Cecil and Ruby {Wyatt} Hope on December 29, 1953. She is also survived by, her brother, Tobi (Stacy) Hope; her daughter-in-law, Annie (Troy) Wickens; her brother-in-law, Stephen (Anne) Woolwine; her sister-in-law, LaTonya (Bruce) Martin; her grandson, Lane Woolwine; her stepson, Robbie (Kelly) Woolwine; her good friend of 47 years, Jayne Galyen; multiple nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Woolwine, on December 19, 2009; her brothers, George (Effie Jean) Hope, Robert Hope; her sister, Loretta; and her brother-in-law, Terry (Paula) Woolwine. Penny worked for many years at General Motors and spent the last 20 years as Master Gardner at Danville Gardens. She was involved with Womens Shooting Sports Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Foundation, as well as a member of the Sisters of the American Legion. A celebration of Pennys life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, DeVerter Chapel, 215 N. Division Street, Cayuga, IN 47928 with Mark Houvenagle officiating. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Silver Island Cemetery, Kingman, IN. Memorial donations may be given in her name to American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
