Penny Jill Rubin

Penny Jill Rubin passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital. She was born on November 24, 1957 in Danville, Illinois, to Rick and Betty Rubin. She attended Illinois Childrens Hospital School in Chicago and Danville Area Community College, where she graduated with her GED in 1983. Penny lived in Danville for 51 years. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers, Ricke (Pam) and Jeff (Janice), sister Lorene (Lew) Lane, Aunt Pat Linck, seven nieces and nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews. Her family and friends were a source of great joy. Penny was a talented artist painting with her toes, enjoyed swimming, vacationing, and caring for her many pets throughout the years. She participated in the Deaf Choir of Catlin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, from 1-3pm. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A gathering for Pennys family and friends will be held at the Executive Plaza, 3550 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Pennys honor to United Cerebral Palsy of Illinois or the Danville Humane Society.
