Pennie Sue Johnson, 56, of Danville passed away on May 23, 2011 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Pennie was born on October 6, 1954 in Danville daughter of Cecil and Margaret (Parson) Cross. She married Wayne Johnson on December 20, 1991 at their home in Danville. He survives along with three children: David (Vanessa) Harris, Pamala (Dwayne) Staley, and Melinda Foote Lomax; four brothers: Arnold (Billie) Pruitt, Butch (Brenda) Cross, Jimmy Cross, and Guy Pitchford; two sisters: Tina (Ron) Worthington and Jody (Frank) Pryle; four grandchildren; Vernoh Jolly, Kayla Staley, Brandon Caffey, and Cheyenne Foote as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Pruitt and grandson Gage Thomas Foote. Pennie worked as a roofer, bartender, waitress, and a painter; but has been a loving and dedicated home maker for most of her life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, woodworking & wood burning, bingo, Skip-Bo, Yahtzee, and playing the poker machines at the local VFW. A Celebration of Pennies Life will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday May 27, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
