Peggy Anna Dyer, 84, of Danville passed away at 7:06 am on August 17, 2022 in Danville, IL.
Peggy was born on October 4, 1937 the daughter of Martin Joseph and Theodosia Anna (McBride) Schaefer in Sikeston, MO. She married Nelson C. Dyer on October 1, 1960 in Sikeston, MO and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2012.
Survivors include her daughter Cynthia (Joe) Nourie of Tilton, IL, Debbie (Todd) Harris of Danville, IL and Pam (Rob) Hood of Columbus, OH, eight grandchildren, Joseph (Christina) Bush, Joshua (Hilliary Wright) Bush, Marshall (Brittany) Harris, Erica (David) Tuttle, Hayley (Chris) Senopole, Grace (Jared Dazey) Harris, Nathan Hood and Gabriel Hood, ten great grandchildren, Ahriana Bush, Ava Lyn Bush, Myla Bush, Jayce Wright, Jacob Bush, Jr., Gage Tuttle, Zayne Harris, Jacksen Harris, McKinleigh Harris and Killian Senopole, sister-in-law, Betty Jo Schaefer, brother-in-law, Jerry Dyer and "fourth daughter", Cathy Lete as well as several nieces and nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nelson, one grandson, Jacob Bush, and eight siblings.
Peggy was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending her free time volunteering at OSF Hospital, taking trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama and Branson, Missouri with her family and friends, playing Sudoku, and going to dinner with her close circle of friends. Peggy was an active volunteer and enjoyed serving in multiple organizations including but not limited to Business & Professional Women Club, Girl Scouts of America, Illinois State Square Dance Association, the Frontier Twirlers and the VFW Womens Association.
Peggy greatest joy was being with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 East Main Street, Danville, IL, 61832. Father Steven Loftus will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. A Prayer Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022 and Public Visitation will be held from 2:00 4:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.
Memorials may be made in Peggys memory to Holy Family Catholic Church or the OSF Cancer Center.
