Pearline Mcghee-George

Champaign - Pearline McGhee-George, 80, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Champaign County Nursing Home. She was born on November 24, 1937 in Peoria, IL to Charlie and Ophelia (Lilly) McGhee. Pearline is survived by her children Regina R. Bulliner of Monroe, GA, Veronica (Frank) Ball of Rantoul, IL, John C. George Jr. of Peoria, IL, and Michaela (Willie) Williams of Champaign, IL; grandchildren Willie III, W. James, Tashara, Cameron, Greylin, Robert, Justin, Domonique, and Ian; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Evelyn Collins of Tucson, AZ and Mary Ann Turner of Peoria, IL; uncle Thomas Lilly of Peoria, IL; aunts Mable Smedley and Berline Purifoy; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters Nellie Caruth, Merrill White, and Rose Ann Morris. Pearline enjoyed bowling. She was an avid sports fan and a soap opera fanatic. Pauline was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, IL. She retired at age 55 after working over 30 years at Illinois Bell/ATT in Peoria. Visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. A one-hour viewing will be held from 10am-11am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Peoria Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3828 N New York Ave, Peoria, IL 61614. A celebration of Pearline's life will follow at 11am at the church. Pastor Willie Williams Jr. will officiate. Graveside committal will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
