Pearl J. Price, 93, of Danville passed away at 11:03 PM February 1, 2013 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born on March 31, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Dora (LeFevers) Denny. She married Howard N. Price on February 11, 1939 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death in 1974. Surviving her are two sons- Melvin Price of Danville, David (Barbara) Price of Danville, special daughter in law- Jill Price, grandchildren- Kate (Justin) Thorlton of Bismarck, Kristina (Talia Daulton) Price of Danville, Jason (Kari) Blair of Mahomet, Heather (Johnathan) Hamilton Chicago, great grandchildren- Emerson, Madeline, Finley and Cooper Thorlton, Griffin Daulton and Maya Hamilton, nieces- Linda Culotti, Susan Lind, Sandra Light and Dianne Geiken, nephews- Mark New, Bob New, Rick and Mike Denny, special great nieces- Delynn (Bob) Mann and Amber Black, great nephews- Denny Culotti and Mike Burrow, very special cousin- Danny Denney, special friends- Martha Foster, Linda Laird, Nancy Schoolcraft, Shirley Hardan and neighbors- Rita (Lloyd) Beherns. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, six sisters and one granddaughter that was her whole world- Lori Anne Price. She owned and operated Price Brothers Bakery with her husband for 37 years, retiring in 1967. They were known for their peanut rolls and strawberry shortcake that people still talk about today. She was a member of the VFW, Moose Auxillary, Danville Womens Club and the Elks. She loved gardening, bowling, QVC and talking to people. The family would like to thank Hawthorne Inn and Passages Hospice for all that they have done. A Celebration of Pearl's life will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor Doug Knapp officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Springhill Cemetery.
