Pearl J. Hollowell

Pearl J. Hollowell, age 90 of Covington, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born July 24, 1924 in State Line, IN, the daughter of Noah and Della (Palmer) Jordan. Pearl married the love of her life, William L. Hollowell, on November 1, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in 1997. Surviving are her children, who will miss her dearly, Ron Hollowell of Indianapolis, IN, Sharon (Joe) Sare of Covington, IN, and Donna (Steve) Dunham of Perrysville, IN; sister, Judy (Bill) Middleton of Danville, IL; grandchildren, April (Mark) Switzer, Kelly (Jeff) Ressler, Nicole (Paul) Thompson, Valerie (Karen) Hollowell, and Zach (Jessica) Dunham; thirteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, four sisters, and one brother. Pearl had worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in housekeeping for several years. She also worked for Superior Coach Sales in Perrysville. She was also a member of Covington United Methodist Church. After Pearl retired she was a volunteer at The Waters of Covington and Friendship Circle Center in Covington. She made the best beef and noodles a family favorite. Pearl loved to crochet, do word puzzles, talk on the phone with her friends, and going to her grandkids activities. She was always willing to help others. Pearl babysat all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying every minute she could spend with them. A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 3pm EST at Sunsets Covington Chapel. Pastor Eddy Jones will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. Visitation will be held from 1:00- 3:00 PM EST Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials in Pearls name can be made to Covington United Methodist Church.
