Pauline Hess

Lois Pauline Hess, 80, of Oakwood passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Champaign. Pauline was born on July 24, 1927 in Kerr Township, Illinois, the daughter of Orville E. and Zella (Mabry) Watson. She married Walter A. Hess on October 16, 1945 in Danville. He survives. Pauline is also survived by two sons, Dennis L. (Winnie) Hess of Oakwood and Gary L. (Linda) Hess of Danville; one daughter, Kathy L. (Bruce) Ross of Danville; four brothers, Gene (Judy) Watson of Covington, IN, Lowell Pete (Noni) Watson of Gifford, IL, Kenneth (Judy) Watson of Leesburg, FL, and Phillip (Debbie) Watson of Homer, IL; one sister, R. Lorene Kinney of Ottawa, IL; five grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pauline was a graduate of Armstrong High School. She was a bookkeeper for Millikin Dry Cleaners in Danville and then at Gibson Savings and Loan in Oakwood. Pauline enjoyed to read and do crossword puzzles in her spare time. She and Walter enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. Pauline was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church. A celebration of life for Pauline Hess will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel in Oakwood with her grandson, Clay Hess officiating. Burial will be at Stearns Cemetery in Muncie, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the funeral home.
