Pauline Alma Birdsell

Champaign Pauline Alma Birdsell, 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born on August 23, 1928 in Champaign, IL to John and Theresa (Kaiser) Engelhardt. Pauline married Ray "Bud" Birdsell on May 23, 1969.

Pauline is survived by her sister Mary Berniece Cleland; step-sons John Birdsell and Mike Birdsell; sister-in-law Laura Bernice Engelhardt; and many nieces and nephews who viewed her as a second mother. She will be sorely missed by everyone. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings J. Paul (Helen) Engelhardt, Karl W. Engelhardt, and Katherine E. (John) Young; and brother-in-law Joseph Cleland.

A graveside committal will be held in Paulines honor at 11am on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Eastlawn Burial Park in Urbana, IL. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Carle hospital for taking such great care of our beloved sister/aunt. Memorial donations may be made in Paulines name to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, or Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
