Paul William 'Bill' Thornsbrough

Paul William Thornsbrough 61 of Rossville, IL passed away at 10:00 pm on September 22, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He rejoins his beloved father Paul Darr Thornsbrough. Paul was born at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, IL on December 22, 1954 to Barbara (Woods) and Paul Thornsbrough. To his friends and family he was known as Billy T and to his cherished daughter, Ashlee Weidenburner and grandsons, Dalton and Drew Weidenburner, he was Papa T. He had fond memories as a child playing nerf baseball and home run derby with his brother, Tim (Denise) Thornsbrough and complaining about having to eat his sister's, Judie Roberts, dry bbq. Bill (T-Bird) grew up in Alvin, IL and graduated Rossville-Alvin High School in 1973. He loved helping his dad and brother farm and worked at Alvin Elevator, Cargil Elevator and Birkey's farm store after high school. He also worked many years at ConAgra in Rossville, IL as a forklift driver and enjoyed going to work and seeing his friends. He owned his own trucking company for several years then for the past 15 plus years, he worked for Ribbe Trucking, Tilton, IL. Billy T looked forward to going to work everyday, especially on Fridays when they would have donuts at the shop in the morning. On his way to work he would often stop to get his Diet Pepsi and Hostess Cupcake. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the farm and riding mopeds with his daughter (Ashlee), nephews (Josh and Tyler) and niece (Jennifer) when they were young. Papa T loved his daughter and two grandsons more than anything and would often be seen wearing his favorite blue shirt cruising to get ice cream and going to baseball games with them. Whether you called him Paul, Bill, T-Bird, Billy T, Papa T or Dad one thing is for sure, he always had a smile and a big wave for who ever passed his way. Bill was a very kind hearted man and was always willing to help anyone in need. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, Pastor Drew Mentzer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mann's Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for expenses or to Dalton and Drew Weidenburner Trust Fund at Bank of Rantoul in Rossville.
